Favorite Things
Longevity hacks, cooking and mental health, a really good movie plus a new favorite Instagram account.
Well, hello - it’s been a minute! I returned home from Italy last week, and while our trip was dreamy perfection from start to finish, I am so happy to be back. As promised, I will be writing up my travel recap very soon, so stay tuned for that. Unfortunately, I’ve been majorly down for the count this past week with some mystery illness that’s taken me a while to shake, but I am slowly getting back into fighting form. I’ve been giving myself permission to pause so that my body can heal quickly and fully, so that’s why things have been a little quiet here.
Here’s the good news: all of the cooking inspiration gleaned from my trip is well-timed with the spring farmer’s markets starting to open up here, so I’ll be getting into the kitchen as often as I can to create new recipes for you, too. All I want to do is break out my cookbooks and invite people over to eat (that is, until my introverted tendencies make me immediately freak out and cancel all plans, lol).
Let’s get into some Favorite Things, yes?
Speaking of hosting, I’ve been feeling so inspired by this Instagram account lately. She has the most fun, approachable ideas for gathering at home.
I watched this movie on the way home from Italy and loved it. It made me laugh out loud and cry (I’m sure some other passenger was deriving their entertainment solely from watching me). One of the better movies I’ve seen in a while.
5 Science Backed Longevity Hacks That Don’t Cost a Fortune
After eating pasta every day for 2 straight weeks (poor me, I know), I am really craving other flavors right now! This Lemongrass Tofu with Broccoli recipe (NYT gift link) has over 1,200 five star reviews and is exactly what I want for dinner tonight.
Such a pretty dress for spring (and graduation parties, baby showers, etc!).
This podcast episode about cooking and mental health with Christina Chaey really resonated with me.
I was a major fan of Mad Men, so when I heard Jon Hamm had a new series coming out, I couldn’t wait for the release date. I’m only two episodes in on Your Friends & Neighbors, but so far it’s worth it for the real estate porn and watching Don Draper Jon look all broody with a glass of whiskey again.
I found this absolutely fascinating: The Return of the Dire Wolf.
The first casting for HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter series has been announced! It’s so hard to imagine new faces in these iconic roles, but I’m excited (I think?) nonetheless.
That chocolate drizzle concoction!! Thank you for all the wonderful links, love the longevity piece from the NYT-- back to basics is all we need. 👏 And way to prioritize rest 🙏🙏
